Hello Sophia Suy,
We are the Cambodian Kids Foundation. We are an Australian based organisation that works in Cambodia helping empower the younger generation to become leaders of tomorrow.

Our foundation has set up a kindergarten, a leadership centre, scholarship programs, womens health clinics, small businesses for poor families and much more. Currently we are in the process of building the Saing Sy School/ community centre. It will reach over 5000 Khmer people who have previously had no access to education of any sort.

We reach thousands of Khmer people and help hundreds every week.
We too started off as a mother and daughter team who just wanted to help.
We didn't know how to start but slowly with the help of lots of kind people we were able to build our foundation into what it is today.

If you want to help out in Cambodia, then you should follow you dream and do it!

If I can help you in anyway I would be happy to if you want to talk about anything at all let me know. I love to hear about people who want to help out!! even making asmall difference can mean the world to some people!

yeah i was going to work my way towards there
last night i thought i might aswell get my foot in the door so i can try to help make a difference NGO's? sorry i'm not all to familiar with that term right now but i'll get there:) it also that sounds like a good idea i'm pretti sure there will be alot of organisations out there kind of working together for the bigger cause

Good luck, but take care too, to make sure your efforts truly benefit the people you want to reach. Rather than orphanages, if you want to help children with psycho-social problems, try . For older adults, there are two good NGOs working - Social Services of Cambodia and Transcultural Psychospcial Organisation (TPO). There are many local NGOs working with children who you would find it better to link up with rather than starting your own, which can be difficult. If you tell me the home area of your parents, I may be able to recommend a good one for you.
